All_ScrappersMARY ALICE "MICKEY" MORTON CASTOR '57Posted by JanHolleyLong57 at 13:29, on Thursday, February 2, 2012
Mary Alice "Mickey" Morton Castor of the Class of '57 writes that she and her husband, Don, will be moving to the Freshman Dorm of the University Village Retirement Center in Tampa, FL. This move should be taking place around the 1st of February, 2012. She further states they are looking forward to the courses offered by the University of South Florida's Lifetime Learning Program. Mickey proudly reports that each of their three (3) children continue to live interesting and fulfilling lives.
As President of the Hillsborough County League of Women Voters, Mickey enjoyed organizing and serving as moderator of the TV forums in the Tampa City Council & Mayor's races...and was a panelist for a Tampa Bay history forum on Women in Politics.
Don, her husband, enjoyed serving on the committee which organized the 62nd reunion of his Hillsboro High School Class of 1949 at the Tampa Psalms Country Club.
I have to agree with Mickey that there is something very special about old friendships.
Please let us hear from you if you have information about yourself or your family to share with us.
Many thanks,
Jan Holley Long Class of 1957

All_ScrappersJOYCE WEST SIMMONSPosted by JanHolleyLong57 at 15:22, on Tuesday, January 31, 2012
Joyce West Simmons of the Class of 1957, underwent surgery on Monday, January 16, 2012. Joyce had to have the big toe on her right foot removed due to melanoma. It was also necessary for the surgeon to remove a number of lymph nodes in this area. She returned to the doctor in a week after surgery to have the stitches removed, however, her foot was still very swollen and there was some infection. She is hoping to have the stitches out this week sometime. Joyce is at home and in some pain. She will be meeting with a cancer doctor next week to see if any type of chemo will be required. Please remember Joyce in your prayers and pray that God's will be done in her life.
Many thanks,

In an e-mail from John Taylor.....
Lewis
I just learned that Sandy "Reichman" Berryhill, who was in our class, died about 2 weeks ago in Naperville, IL. She suffered from cancer. She had been a widow for about 10 years. She is survived by 2 children. I don’t know if this has been posted on the Scrapper website or elsewhere.
